In the business of liking people
I know someone who’s quite happy in his highly demanding job. When I asked how he does it, he replied, “I like the people I work with.”
Contemplate the cost of inaction
These words are not mine, but I took them personally. As others might as well.
I don’t think there is a way to measure missed opportunities, and it might be a good idea not to, just to avoid letting yourself go on a spiral of regret.
Easy come, easy go
Easy come, easy go. But steady diligence pays off. In life, relationships, careers, and, as it turned out, marketing, consistency pays off—a strategy and an effort that has the power to beat talent.
Too late or not too late
Blaming it on “it’s too late” is a safe excuse for not doing something. It’s an exit before even entering a place you don’t want to be in. Remember when you were 20 and “too late” wasn’t part of the vocabulary?
What’s real like?
Colors, filters, and editing changed our reality and what we expect things to look like. Over the years, an innocent and helpful tool of aesthetic pleasing turned into a deceitful monster.
Getting the timing right
Uncertainty, for better or worse, is the most uncomfortable, soul-draining season to walk into. Life gets shaky; not knowing what to do and “leaving it all up to fate” isn’t as fun anymore as it was when you were twenty.
